Privacy Policy

Effective June 8, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information CatCosplay (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our AI pet-cosplay service, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using CatCosplay you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. You can sign in with Google or LINE. From Google we receive your name, email address, and profile picture; from LINE we receive your name and profile picture (LINE does not currently share your email address with us). We never receive or store your provider password.

Content you create. When you upload a pet photo and generate images, we store the uploaded photo, the prompt or template you used, and the resulting images so you can view and manage them in your library.

Guest usage. You can try CatCosplay without an account. Guests are identified by an anonymous cookie on your device — no name or email is collected until you choose to sign in.

Technical information. We automatically collect limited technical data — IP address, approximate country derived from it, browser and device type, and basic usage events — to operate the service, prevent abuse, and protect against fraud.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: deliver the service and process your generation requests; maintain your Catnip credit balance and history; secure accounts and prevent abuse, fraud, and automated mass sign-ups; respond to your requests and send service-related messages; and improve CatCosplay over time.

We do not use your uploaded photos or generated images to train AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.

3. How AI Generation Works

Generating an image sends your pet photo and prompt to a third-party AI provider for inference. The provider returns the generated image to us, which we store in your library. AI providers process this data under their own privacy and retention practices; we share only what is needed to fulfil your request — never your account profile or billing details.

4. Payment Information

When you subscribe to a paid plan, we use Creem (https://creem.io) as our Merchant of Record. Creem handles payment collection, billing, tax compliance across 190+ countries, and refunds, and appears as the merchant on your card statement.

We share with Creem only what is needed to process payment: your email address when it is available (to prefill and link the checkout), the country derived from your IP address (for tax and price display), and a reference id linking your CatCosplay account to your Creem record. If your CatCosplay account does not have an email address, Creem collects the checkout email directly on its hosted payment page. We do NOT share your pet photos, generated images, prompt history, or any other product usage with Creem.

Creem is an independent data processor and applies its own Privacy Policy to data it collects directly at checkout — most notably your payment card details, which we never see or store. For data-subject requests involving payment data, email us at support@catcosplay.com and we will coordinate with Creem on your behalf.

Payment records — transaction id, amount, currency, billing period, and refund status — are retained for the longer of the life of your account or the period required by applicable financial regulations (typically up to 7 years). After account deletion, only the minimum financial-recordkeeping fields remain; identifying fields such as email, name, and IP are removed within 30 days.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that host and operate CatCosplay (cloud storage and compute, the AI generation providers, Creem for payments, and PostHog for product analytics), and with authorities when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of our users or CatCosplay.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to identify guest sessions for the free trial. We also use PostHog, a first-party product-analytics service, which sets analytics cookies and may collect product events, page views, clicked or interacted interface elements, session replay-style usage recordings, and optional in-product survey responses so we can understand and improve the Service. This is product analytics, not advertising. We use your browser's local storage to remember interface state, such as draft prompts and referral links. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site trackers.

7. Data Retention & Your Choices

We keep your account information and generated content while your account is active, so your library stays available. You can delete individual designs at any time from within the app.

To delete your account and its content, email support@catcosplay.com. We remove your data within 30 days of the request, except for the minimal payment records we are legally required to keep (see Payment Information).

8. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and at rest and access controls on our systems. No online service is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

9. International Users

CatCosplay is operated from the United States and relies on service providers that may process data in the United States and other countries. By using the service, you understand that your information may be processed in these locations, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

10. Children's Privacy

CatCosplay is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, for material changes, give notice by email or in-app before they take effect.
